Is the author quoting a book? Why does it begin with 'WE'? Our hero: 1) Reaches the setting place of the sun Does he imagine that he has done so or that he has from his perspective? The author doesn't say that. 2) Finds it setting in a spring (not the sea) Does he imagine that he has found the sun setting in a spring or that he has from his perspective? The author doesn't say so. 3) Finds people by it Does he imagine that there are people by the spring in which the sun sets or that he has from his perspective? The author doesn't say so. 4) Reaches the rising place of the sun Does he imagine that he has reached the rising place of the sun or that he has from his perspective? 5) Finds it rising on people Does he imagine finding it rising on people or that he has from his perspective? 6) Reaches between two bars Does he imagine reaching between two bars or has he from his perspective? 7) Finds people. Does he imagine finding people or that he has from his perspective? Now, as the qurans are 'clear' and 'detailed', then if the reader believes 'the word of Allah' he will accept what the text says. But the Muslim DOES NOT WANT the text to be clear. He DOES NOT WANT to believe 'the word of Allah'. Had it been from other than Allah they would have found therein much discrepancy. Is the 'other' another deity? Might there be, in the author's mind at this point**, some other deity that might have a book? How might we know that quran was/is from Allah? The line allows for there being discrepancies in quran; does the test consist in examining just how many there are, and if there are many then it's not from Allah? Can we know that it's from Allah from their being (supposedly) only a few discrepancies? Does the author think that there must be discrepancies in all books, and many in books that aren't from Allah? Muslims will tell us that there are contradictions in the Bible. But isn't the Bible supposedly one of Allah's books? S 2:285 The messenger has believed in what has been sent down to him from his lord, and the believers. All have believed in Allah and his angels and his books and his messengers. We do not distinguish between any of his messengers. And they have said: We have heard and obeyed. Your forgiveness, our lord, and to you is the destiny. S 4:136 Those who have believed, believe in Allah and his messenger and the book that he sent down upon his messenger and the Book that he sent down before. And he who disbelieves in Allah and his angels and his books and his messengers and the last day, he has strayed far.
